The Space Needle is almost an unofficial mascot for the city of Gatlinburg. New Years Eve Fireworks at the Space Needle in Dowtown Gatlinburg
The Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop takes place at the Space Needle. Everyone in downtown Gatlinburg begins to migrate to Traffic Light #8 around 11pm on New Year’s Eve and they will fill the streets from Light #8 and up Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road. The Countdown and Ball Drop happens at the Space Needle at midnight. This is a free public event with musical entertainment, a DJ and Fireworks!
