Space Needle in Downtown Gatlinburg

Space Needle in Downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee

The Space Needle is almost an unofficial mascot for the city of Gatlinburg. The Space Needle is arguably one of the most memorable establishments in town (likely because its harder not to see it than it is TO see it). The Space Needle is a skyscraping structure that reaches 407 feet into the air for a wide-angle view of the Smokies and Gatlinburg and the dozens of photo opportunities that follow.   The Space Needle live Webcam is always available for online views of Gatlinburg.

Below is a 25,000 family fun center complete with arcade, pool tables, prizes, pizza and more. It’s a great way to spend the afternoon with the kids in the Smokies.

The Space Needle is in the center of town and a quick 7-10 minute walk from your Baskin Creek cabin or chalet in downtown Gatlinburg. Baskins Creek supports all the major attractions here in Gatlinburg plus your right to enjoy them with convenience. If you’d like a Smoky Mountain Vacation without a lot of endless driving, gas pumping and parking tickets, make your reservations with Baskins Creek Vacation Rentals here in downtown Gatlinburg!

The Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop takes place at the Space Needle.   Everyone in downtown Gatlinburg begins to migrate to Traffic Light #8 around 11pm on New Year’s Eve and they will fill the streets from Light #8 and up Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road.  The Countdown and Ball Drop happens at the Space Needle at midnight.  This is a free public event with musical entertainment,  a DJ and Fireworks!
