New Year’s Eve Fireworks and Ball Drop

The 23rd Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop is just days away.  What’s it all about?   Everyone in downtown Gatlinburg begins to migrate to Traffic Light #8 around 11pm on New Year’s Eve and they will fill the streets from Light #8 and up Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road.  The Countdown and Ball Drop happens at the Space Needle at midnight.

New Year's Eve Fireworks at Gatlinburg Space Needle

This is a free public event with musical entertainment,  a DJ and Fireworks!   The ball drops at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2011 when the surrounding rooftops near the Space Needle area will glow read and the musical program starts which includes selected songs followed by a choreographed fireworks show produced by Pyro-Shows of LaFollette, Tennessee.  Bundle up and come on down!
